I was just sitting here thinking as I listen to the Edwin Hawkins Singers singing songs
like Oh Happy Day, I Am Going Through and Listen to the Rain and I started thinking about
Jesus and his soon return. The song that touch me was I'm Going Through. It says Jesus
paid the price and mo matter what sickness or trouble I'm going through I,m going through
with Jesus. Hey we don't have to go it alone. Jesus said he would NEVER LEAVE US OR
FORSAKE US. Psalm. 23: 4 says "Even if I walk through the valley of the shadow of
death I will fear no evil for YOU ARE WITH ME, your rod and your staff they comfort
me." All I can say about that is WOW. God himself is with me. Yes He is a friend that
sticks closer than a brother. 1 Peter 5:6-7 says this " Humble yourselves, therefore,
under God mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast ALL your anxiety on him
cause He cares for you." All I can say is what a loving God we serve that he not only
paid the price for are sins and promised us eternal live in heaven but he is here to help
us through this life. Hey we do have something to be excited about. And if you don't know
Jesus as your Lord and Savior today is the day just ask him into your heart and get into
the Word ( The Bible) and also a Bible believing church and start serving Him. God Bless.
There is a church in WV that is in need of a sound
system. It needs to be 8 channels or more. The Pastor from the A/G in Berwind told me of
this need. Its not for his church but for The Church of God in his area. Its a small
church in the second poorest county in the USA. Also we still are in need for people to
send socks to some kids that are in need in Oklahoma. If you can help with any of these
needs please e mail me and I'll give you all the details. With the sound system if you
wish you can send the church a donation to help purchase this unit. What they need should
be around $500. A used one would be a lot less. With the socks we did get some offers but
we need to get more. These poor children go to school with no socks. Please pray to see if
God can use you to help. Visit are site at sollers.youthofamerica.org

Getting What You Want No Matter Who It Hurts
Genesis
3;6 (niv) " When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and
pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She
also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it."
Please read all of chapter 3 so to get this all in context. I was driving my car toward
home after trying to meet with someone who is rebelling and I was feeling a little hurt
because I lead this young lady
to the Lord and discipled her. So I took it personally. And I prayed and kind of asking
but really knowing that God was hurt to. Well the young lady I went to see and also tried
to call several time's is avoiding me.
Well God showed me that Adam and Eve did the same thing. It's amazin how the sin of
rebellion has the same pattern.
Beside trying to hide on me I learned that she did
what she wanted to do even knowing it would hurt those who love her most. Yes Adam and Eve
knew God personally. Remember they spent time with him in the garden. Yet it didn't matter
. They wanted to be like God. Satan had his representative ready to go work too. Same as
this young lady. She met a young man who whether he know it or not is worshipping satan by
the music he is listening to ( Ozzie Osborne). When you play music like that you give
satan permission to come to come on in
.
But you see there is a price to be paid for
rebellion. Adam and Eve got kicked out of the garden but even worse they were kicked out
from the very presence of God. Yes they were robbed of the ultimate blessing.
If you are rebelling it's time you got right with God. Repent and get back to Jesus. You
know that is where you belong. In His Presence.

Update 3-12-99
This devotional I'm about
to share was inspired by the Holy Spirit whilel chatting to Kim Riffe, the wife of Pastor
Gary Riffe of Berwind A/G in Wesy Virgina.
Matt16:18 (niv)
And I tell you that you are Peter and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates
of Hades (Hell) will not overcome it." The Message puts it this way "This is the
rock that I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not
even the gates of
hell will be able to keep it
out."
We as His church have
been for to long allowing satan to have his way with us. How is
that? Well there are many ways. To name a few like gossip, back biting, and lack of, oh no
here is a big one, committment. There are others I could add to this list. We need to
attack satan in his strong holds. You see gates don't attack. They we used to keep someone
out. Like around a fort or a castle. We need to stop circling the wagons as they do in the
old westerns and mount the charge. We need to sound the trumpet of attack not
retreat.
Its time for Gods church to do what we are CALLED to do. Attack! Even as I was writting
this satan has tryed to stop me by disconnecting me in the middle of a thought. Praise God
he failed. I'm sitting here today with great back pain typing this out but I must do what
God is
calling me to do. Attack.
Brother, sisters Attack. Take back what he has stolen from you. Reach out to those lost
souls who's eternity depends on you telling them about the one who can save them from hell
fire. Lord give us the boldness to go and attack satan in
his strong holds. I know the time is now. We must not delay.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU. BROTHER JIM
Reaching out to those who are hurting with the love of Christ
( 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7)
Update 3-9-99:
Devotional: There is a teachingrunning through many churches
today that says that once you accept Christ you will have no problems. They don't say it
like that but that
is what they mean. Well we as Christians do go through hard times. And
there is a reason as we shall see in this scriptures.2Corinthians 1: 3-4. " Praise
God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of ALL
COMFORT, who comforts us in all our troubles so that WE CAN COMFORT THOSE IN ANY
TROUBLE WITH THE COMFORT WE OURSELVES HAVE RECEIVED FROM GOD." (NIV) God allows us to
go through hard time to teach us . But he wants us to use those hard times to reach out to
others. My family and I were homeless for about a month. I know what it is like to be
without a home. I can comfort people in that I can say to them ' I know how you
feel. You see I can share with them on their level. I would rather have someone talk to me
who has been or is going through the same thing as I. Because they know how it feels and
if they could share how God lead them out of the problem well that is powerful. I don't
know what you went through or are going through. But if you allow God to use it to reach
out to believers and non- believers you will be able to help and win many to Christ. It
could be a relationship that went bad or money problems. Let God use you. Don't ever say
to someone ," I know what you are going through," when you haven't gone through
it. Cause you don't know. Be truthful to those in which you are speaking. Maybe you can
send them to someone who has gone through that particular hard time and can help them. Vs5
"For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through
Christ our comfort flows." Let Jesus SHINE through you. That is who the world
needs to
see.
GOD BLESS YOU. BROTHER

Denying The Savior
John18:17 " You are not one of his disciples, are you? Peter
replied, I am not". (NIV)
This is the first time that Peter denied being one of Christ's disciples. We as
Christians look at this, at the most part, and look down on Peter. How could he deny Jesus
who Peter had seen perform all
those miracles. Is this the same Peter who only hours before said he would die for
Christ?
Don't put Peter down because we do the same thing.
How do we deny Jesus?
Notice that I
include myself. We do it every time that we don't share Jesus and the gift he has given
us. The gift of SALVATION. We also deny him when we don't do all things he has called us
to do. Oh, don't say: not me--because that is what Peter did.
And the church
as a whole, I believe, is doing the same thing.
I am an active member of the church and a Deacon, and what I mean by the
Church, is those of us who have accepted Jesus as Lord and
Savior.
Yet the church
as a whole has been denying the POWER of GOD.
We have watered down the truth so that we won't offend anyone.
All you have to
do is look at what Jesus said to the religious leaders of his day:
" You vipers"
This was not a compliment.
I'm not saying
we should be name calling but we need to call sin what it is: SIN!!!
We have been denying Christ by not doing what he told us to do. Feeding the poor is only
one of them. And how about reaching the lost?
Did you share your faith with any one today?
There is hope as we can see how Jesus restored Peter after the resurection:
John 21:15-19. " Simon do you LOVE ME". . .
Please read the
rest for yourself. Brother, sister DO YOU LOVE HIM. Then do what
he told you to do. Ask him to forgive you, he is faithful even when we are not. Go
and share your faith to this lost world. Its up to us as individuals and as his church.
DO YOU BELIEVE HIM?
Please let me
know if this has been helpful to you and if it touch you in any way. Please E-mail me.
I'd love to hear from you.
GOD BLESS Brother Jim
Devotional
I was reading the story of Jacob in Genesis 28:10-14. About his dream. He saw angles
ascending and descending on a stairway which went to the throne of God. And
this dream had an impact on his life for God reminded him of the promise he made to
Abraham, all people will be blessed from your offspring. That blessing is Jesus Christ who
would come later and die for us. But was this stairway ever spoken of again? The answer is
yes .
When Jesus in John 1:51. He was talking to
Nathaniel that he, Jesus had seen him sitting under a fig tree. Jesus said
this." I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God
ascending and descending on the Son of Man".(niv) So the stairway that Jacob saw was
Jesus. We know from the word that Jesus has many names, the way, light, truth to name a
few. But have you ever thought of him as a STAIRWAY? Think about it. The stairway that
leads to the throne of GOD.
GOD BLESS BROTHER JIM
